Winter Prep

It's hard to think winter when it's almost 100 degrees outside, but we know that it's coming.  We had planned on cutting our own hay this year.  That didn't happen thanks to a very untimely tractor malfunction.
We were lucky to find a local guy to buy from.

This is premo stuff here.  Weed free, never been rained on, and smells soooo good.   I see this and see beautiful jars of milk and cream.   It's important to remember that what you put into your animals is what you get out.

We bought 18 bales, which should (If I figured correctly) should last for at least 7 months.  Yes, I realize that having to plan for a winter that long is ridiculous, but that is my reality.  It makes wood cutting all the more fun too.

Speaking of cutting wood...

We only need about 5 times more.
Chop chop times a wasting!  (see what I did there?)
